When a fetus is delivered buttocks or feet first

Breech concerns the position of the fetus beforelabor.

This jot down of delivery is risky for both the pregnant person and the fetus.

This is called the vertex position.

In a breech presentation, the fetus does not turn to lie in the correct position.

Instead, the fetuss buttocks or feet are positioned to come out of the vagina first.

At full term, around 3%4% of births are breech.

However, anultrasoundexamination is the best way to determine how the fetus is lying in the uterus.

This can be an uncomfortable procedure, and it is usually done around 37 weeks gestation.

This bang out of delivery can be more dangerous than a vertex delivery and lead to complications.

If your baby is in breech, your healthcare provider will likely recommend a C-section.

However, most fetuses turn to have their head down before a person goes into labor.

It is not a cause for concern if your fetus is breech before 36 weeks.

It is common for the fetus to move around in many different positions before that time.

If these maneuvers are unsuccessful or not appropriate for your situation, cesarean delivery is most often recommended.
