Symptoms
At first, Morton’s neuroma symptoms may happen once in a while.
As the condition gets worse, the symptoms may happen all of the time.
They include:
It usually feels better by taking off your shoe and massaging your foot.
All of these structures can cause swelling and compression damage to the nerve.
So can trauma due to repetitive motion.
For example, you might try swimming instead of running for exercise.
In about 80% of cases, treatment will be successful.
It occurs more often in females and may be related to shoe jot down.
Other factors that can influence the condition include weight and chronic or repetitive trauma due to overuse.
Preventive measures, such as changing shoes or losing weight, may limit Morton’s neuroma symptoms.
Over-the-counter pain relief is an option.
If you better see a healthcare provider, they may recommend corticosteroid injections or other treatment options.
Most cases will resolve in a matter of weeks or months.
