Who Is at Risk?

Medications or supplements that interfere with vitamin K absorption or metabolism can also lead to a deficiency.

In addition, human milk is low in vitamin K, making some infants prone to vitamin K deficiency.

The shot is usually given within an hour after birth but can be administered within six hours.

Partial or complete blockages within the coronary arteries cause heart attacks.
