Herpes gladiatorumis a contagious skin infection because of skin-to-skin contact with someone who has an active herpes infection.
The sores tend to develop on the head, neck, shoulder, arm, or torso.

Herpes gladiatorum will almost invariably be treated preemptively.
Waiting only exposes you to a greater risk of a severe outbreak.
Is Asymptomatic Transmission Common?
This doesn’t mean there aren’tways to protect yourselffrom infection.
Herpes gladiatorum can be treated with antiviral drugs, ideally started within 24 hours of symptoms.
