Keeping inflammation from the disease under control is important for preventing strictures.

A stricture is a narrowed section in the intestines.

Even for people who do not have digestive disorders, corn may pass through the body only partially digested.

Besides that, every bag or bowl of popcorn seems to have a few unpopped kernels in it.

Nuts

Nuts are also generally understood to be a food that is difficult to digest.

Nuts also contain phytic acid, which may impede the digestion of protein and starch.

However, vegetables are also very fibrous, which makes them difficult to digest.

to get to avoid a blockage at a stricture point, raw vegetables should be avoided.

Instead, vegetables should be cooked, chopped finely, or pureed to make them easier to digest.

Removing all vegetables from the diet is generally not recommended because of their benefits to overall health.

In general, any meats that are eaten should be lean, well cooked, and chewed well.

Going one step further, the more fibrous and fatty cuts of red meat should be avoided.

Seek Help With Diet

Patients that have a stricture should be monitored closely by their gastroenterologist.

A gastroenterologist will be the best resource for how and when the stricture should be treated.

Any dietary restrictions should also be discussed with a healthcare professional.

In some cases,a low fiber, or restricted-fiber dietmay be recommended for a short period of time.

Cutting nutritional foods out of the diet whole-scale is typically not recommended.

Patients who have any questions regarding their diet should always consult their gastroenterologist.
