Transplantation carries many risks, so it is not always used as a treatment for middle-aged or elderly individuals.
About 86% of individuals who receive a bone marrow transplant have a complete recovery.
These drugs may be used alone or in combination.
Individuals with aplastic anemia will be treated by a blood specialist (hematologist).
