Research indicates that cinnamon supplementation can significantly impact obesity measures.
Results were strongest in people older than 50 years and those with a baseline BMI of 30 or greater.
Research suggests that curcumin may improve weight by increasing metabolism, which increases the amount of energy you use.
An evaluation of studies involving curcumin indicates that supplements containing curcumin support weight loss and a decrease in BMI.
However, researchers also advise that using curcumin with increased exercise or other lifestyle changes may support weight loss.
Ginger
Some research indicates that weight loss may be one of thehealth benefits of ginger.
The studies analyzed also showed that ginger improved HDL cholesterol levels.
However, other markers such as BMI, triglycerides, and total cholesterol were unaffected.
Ginger was also linked with weight loss in a study of 80 women with obesity.
They also improved body composition in parameters such as reduced fat mass and mass percentage.
Cardamom
While cardamon has anti-inflammatory properties that may impact weight loss, research on humans is limited.
Researchers reported that consuming cardamom could regulate appetite, resulting in improved energy expenditure and lowering body fat mass.
